Get the Praise You Deserve

By: Shuja Ch

Who else want praise? “Everybody”, did you say or agree. Well; everybody wants a pat or an appreciation. We produce better results when encouraged. In fact there is a rush of a special chemical, called Adrenaline in our blood stream, which makes us feel good and promote a sense of well being when we hear the words of appreciation and praise. Praise is such a power tool to make somebody, anybody feel good that this tool is often misused that that it is used constructively. Wikipedia defines; Praise is the act of making positive statements about a person, object or idea, either in public or privately.

In general, we think so many thoughts in a day (about 150 thousand), but we don’t remember everything happening around.
But, those thoughts which matter us are not remembered but also are re-visited again and again.  If that thought concern ourselves and personality is automatically registered by our sub-conscious mind. When there is a comparatively lack of thinking activity time, the registered thoughts are brought to in front from the sub-conscious mind to conscious awareness. If those thoughts are of negative nature, they cause the painful experience revisited. However if the particular thoughts are of positive structure, they tend to give you the similar feelings as that of original event, when those thoughts were registered by the sub-conscious mind.

Now, in case of Praise thoughts, this effect of re-visiting the experience makes the praise words more powerful. When you praise someone, not only for that instant the individual feels good, but also that it keeps on giving the reoccurring pleasant feeling to the concerned individual.
As the effect of “receiving praise” is reoccurs, so is the effect of “giving praise”. Here we are not considering the misused effects of “praise”, however you can try for experiment to make somebody special feel good. Also you should experiment for the reason that if everybody needs to be praised, there should be someone to give them praise. You never know, that your words may be the only words of praise they received in days.

The act of giving praise to someone also inherits some power effects on our beings. Firstly, when you really praise someone or somebody, you voluntarily involve the mind to think something positive and good. When you receive a reply as a smile or the spark in the eyes of other person, then a surge of positive energy resonates between both of you. These vibrations of good energy cause us to feel more relaxed, focused and happy. This effect of praise can be well experienced with kids. You know hw it feels when you praise a kid and then look into their sparkling eyes. If you are in a relationship, this can be experimented with your spouse. To get full benefits of this you should be genuine in finding something worth praising; and I am sure you know that we can always something good in others, if we want to.

Secondly, we all must know by this time of age that by all definitions of spiritual and religious laws, this is a Give and Take universe. It is governed by the Law of cause and effect. This effect has been reiterated many times through ages. “As you sow, so shall you reap” and “Do the same to others, as want to be done unto you” are the examples from the noble scriptures. Metaphysics and spirituality also endorse the same fact more precisely for the act of “praise” too. If you can praise someone truly and unconditionally, what you are doing well to yourself is that, you are triggering the famous Law of attraction (LOA) in your favour. LOA in simple definition states that, “Like energy attracts like energy”. When we praise someone, we send good energy to them, and there by so we attract the same goodness from the universe. Law of cause and effects explains this as, “The more you give out, the more it comes back”. The more pure praise you give out, the more pure praise you will receive. I read somewhere; the best moments are when a child sees a smile of praise and knows that he is the cause behind this smile. As we grow older our child inside also grows old, but yet that child longs to be praised.

Now to give praise or to receive praise is a win-win game. By praising others you are not only making them feel good, you also play your role in spreading goodness and positive energy around you. Still, what you receive in return is powerful enough to keep a constant flow of happiness towards you. The only thing that needs to be remembered is, if you want to be praised genuinely, praise others the same way. Praising is win-win game, you receive what you give.
